Multitude of Mani-Mondays!

Given my busy schedule lately (not complaining, I thrive in chaos!) I haven’t posted my Mani-Monday’s in about 6 weeks. Sad.

Not one to disappoint, here is a montage of manis. Enjoy!

20140518-153332.jpgFunky reverse French – hot pink. White. Black. A lot of scotch tape and patience.

20140518-153434.jpgBonus Pedi!  Black base with white stripes and a little purple heart.

20140518-153454.jpg50 shades of grey 😉  Ok, kidding. It’s ombre!  White, light grey, dark grey, black.

Mani-Monday! Double Dose

I’ll make this quick, because, you know, Dancing with the Stars is about to begin!

Here’s my mani for this week:

Nude base, funky french tips (in red and black). Totally free-handed that, don’t judge!

Enjoy and happy polishing!

Mani-Monday (and bonus Holiday pedi)

It’s mani (and pedi) time!

It’s the season, so to get a lil festive (and trust me, this is a lot for me… Just call me Miss Scrooge), I opted to do some Santa on my toes!
Red base, some white lines, black belt and silver belt buckle. If you can paint straight lines, you can go this!

As for my mani, I had 4 varying shades of shimmering golds/browns/bronzes. A quick nude base coat, a makeup sponge and quick application… Ta-da!

Mani-Monday

Well, now that Dancing with the Stars is over (don’t EVEN get me started on Derek), I have more free time to spend on this here bloggy thing. Just until the next season of The Bachelor begins….oh Juan 🙂

I digress.

This week for my handy-dandy mani (see what I did there!) is rather simple since I was returning from the holiday weekend. Just a base coat of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in ‘Commander In Chic’ which is a twist of grey/mauve. Now of course I didn’t stop there…oh no. TIS THE SEASON FOR MAGICAL MANIS (sense my excitement).

Glitter tips…oh yes.

Not the french-mani glitter tips, and not the 4th grade glitter nail polish. Oh no. I’m *cough* 30 something and use adult glitter polishes. Like this one from Ulta (Chic Peek…and the name BE any awesomer?!)

Taaaaaa-daaaaa! Enjoy and happy polishing

Mani-Monday!

It’s my weekly ritual… Watching Dancing with the Stars and giving myself a mani. (Don’t judge…. Ok, ok… judge away)

This week I opted for an appropriate dark maroon color, but for a lil WOWSA factor, painted one nail gold with a thin cross. Subtle. Sexy. Cool.

Enjoy and go eat some turkey and taters and pie!

Mani-Monday (and bonus pedi)

I’m baaaaack! Ok, I’ve just been super busy the last month or so. But not too busy to do a lil mani-pedi action!

This week… I choose a glossy purple polish for my nails. Appropriate for Halloween.

Pedi – this gets fun! Opted to do an argyle print. In gold, black, and white. I must admit, I did this free-hand so if you want to complain about the not-so-straight lines. Save it 😉

Cheers and happy polishing!

Mani-Monday (and bonus Pedi)

It’s Monday!

You know what that means…Dancing with the Stars (season 17) premiered.  I’m totally rooting for Elizabeth Berkley, aka Jessie Spano from Saved by the Bell

“I’m so excited, I’m so excited, I’m so, so, scared”.

Ok Ok…on with the regular scheduled blog post.

My mani this week…abstract art.  Nude base, accented with gold and teal.  I was all technical and actually used  tape to put the gold part on.  But let’s be honest, ain’t no body got time for that, so the teal sections were free hand.  I dare you to get out a level and tell me how uneven the lines are.  Just kidding!

Here’s the finished product…not too shabby.

BONUS!  Pedi time.  Well, it IS football season (ahem…Da Bears!), so this month’s pedi design is a free-hand polka dot, in Chicago Bears colors. In case you don’t know what those are: Blue, Orange, White.  No, not Broncos…although I DID enjoy when Tim Tebow played for them. That’s a new blog post topic!

Anyways, here is the critical ‘close up of toes’ shot –

Cheers!

Mani-Monday!

Oh looky looky!

Getting a bit festive these days 🙂  Or it’s the last weekend when I have time to do more than slap on one coat of nail polish.  This week’s look – black/greys/white ombre.  And let me just tell you….it. is. easy.

Started with a base coat (obvi let it dry), then a full coat of white (andddd dry. try to open can of Diet Coke. Ruin a nail. Fix ruined nail. Sit and watch a Lifetime movie).  Now here is the most difficult part….ready, be prepared.  Grab a make-up sponge, you know…those wedge whiteish ones that come in a package of gazillion.  Like these, from Target.  Oh Target…how I love thee, and my bank account loathes thee.

Anywho….on with the show.  Take the sponge, and paint a strips of nail polish (horizontally, across the ‘short’ part of the sponge, towards the end) going from lightest to darkest.  I happen to have 4 colors: white, light grey, dark grey, and black.  I painted the ‘strips’ and then sponged it on my nail. Level of difficulty: 5

I find that I could get a nail or 2 off of the ‘nail polish strips’ on the sponge.  You can dab a bit more to do some blending.  Don’t worry, with practice it gets better.  Also, don’t mind the crazy excess polish that will be all over your fingers.  Just let it dry and you can peel it off (super easy while in the shower…while single Ice Ice Baby.  Ok, the singing doesn’t help but it’s fun).  Slap on a good top coat and do not, I repeat DO NOT open a can of Diet Coke. Just finish watching that Lifetime Movie 🙂

Finished product!

Mani-Mondays

While g-chatting with a dear friend, I shared with her my current DIY mani. She’s a genius, and suggested I do a Mani-Monday post.

This week’s look is some obnoxious Gumby-like green with an accent nail in black/white chevron. Looks difficult… But fear not folks, it’s just a nail, painted white. Then painted a piece of scotch tape black (I’m like the female version of Macguyver! Oh did that just age me, whatevs!). Busted out my pinking shears, cut 3 lil strips and applied. Finish with 2 clear top costs and viola…
