Mani-Monday!

Oh looky looky!

Getting a bit festive these days 🙂  Or it’s the last weekend when I have time to do more than slap on one coat of nail polish.  This week’s look – black/greys/white ombre.  And let me just tell you….it. is. easy.

Started with a base coat (obvi let it dry), then a full coat of white (andddd dry. try to open can of Diet Coke. Ruin a nail. Fix ruined nail. Sit and watch a Lifetime movie).  Now here is the most difficult part….ready, be prepared.  Grab a make-up sponge, you know…those wedge whiteish ones that come in a package of gazillion.  Like these, from Target.  Oh Target…how I love thee, and my bank account loathes thee.

Anywho….on with the show.  Take the sponge, and paint a strips of nail polish (horizontally, across the ‘short’ part of the sponge, towards the end) going from lightest to darkest.  I happen to have 4 colors: white, light grey, dark grey, and black.  I painted the ‘strips’ and then sponged it on my nail. Level of difficulty: 5

I find that I could get a nail or 2 off of the ‘nail polish strips’ on the sponge.  You can dab a bit more to do some blending.  Don’t worry, with practice it gets better.  Also, don’t mind the crazy excess polish that will be all over your fingers.  Just let it dry and you can peel it off (super easy while in the shower…while single Ice Ice Baby.  Ok, the singing doesn’t help but it’s fun).  Slap on a good top coat and do not, I repeat DO NOT open a can of Diet Coke. Just finish watching that Lifetime Movie 🙂

Finished product!
